The island

Arguineguin und Patalavaca:

As a typical Canarian fishing village, Arguineguín is home to many locals rather than being a typical tourist spot. There are numerous bars and restaurants, many of which specialize in fresh fish caught the same day. However, you will also find restaurants offering international cuisine. Tuesday is market day – the largest market on the island. Arguineguín has three beaches and a harbor. A highlight is the newly renovated (September 2022) Playa de Arguineguín, featuring a white sandy beach, a sea-water pool protected from the ocean, and a playground. Several other beaches can be reached on foot along the coastal promenade, including the famous and beautiful Anfi Beach. The area of Arguineguín, Patalavaca, Puerto Rico, and Mogán is known as the sunniest and most weather-reliable region of Gran Canaria, with average winter temperatures of 22–24 °C. Even in summer, it rarely becomes uncomfortably hot.

Puerto Rico:

Many of the activities offered here focus mainly on the beach and the sea. There is also a large mini golf course, the Angry Birds Activity Park for children, and a big shopping center with numerous shops, restaurants, and bars. Behind this center, you’ll find the newMogán Mall, featuring fantastic restaurants, bars, and shops waiting for your visit. At the harbor, you can enjoy a wide variety of boat excursions departing from Puerto Rico: deep-sea fishing, dolphin safaris, pirate ships that circle the island, glass-bottom boats to Puerto de Mogán and Arguineguín, submarine tours, and much more. Close to Puerto Rico lies the beautifulPlaya Amadores, one of the most stunning beaches on Gran Canaria. You can reach Amadores Beach via an impressive coastal promenade after a pleasant 20-minute walk. Here you’ll find a beach club, pedal boat rentals, various bars, and restaurants. For children, teenagers, and young people, the small water park at Playa de Amadores is another highlight. TheAmadores Fun Park features an inflatable obstacle course with climbing towers and slides into the sea – a fun alternative to traditional water parks.

Taurito:

Taurito is located between Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogán. It is an oasis of peace and relaxation, far from the usual mass tourism. The beach offers soft sand and calm waters with little current. It is one of the less crowded beaches where you can find balance and leave everyday stress far behind. It provides all the necessary services for a perfect day at the beach under the warm sun and by the tranquil sea. Along the beach, you will find beach cafés, restaurants, bars, and shops. TheLago Taurito Water Park, located directly behind the beach, offers fun and excitement for the whole family — a great place for a relaxing holiday.

Puerto de Mogan:
Also known as “Little Venice” because of the water channels that run from the harbor into the village and the bridges crossing them, Puerto de Mogán is one of the most beautiful places on Gran Canaria. Its small, picturesque streets with many cafés and restaurants invite you to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Puerto de Mogán has a lovely beach with golden-brown sand that is perfect for sunbathing. You will also find plenty of cafés, restaurants, and shops. If you’d like to see the southern coast from the sea, you can take the local ferry, which runs from Puerto de Mogán via Anfi and Puerto Rico to Arguineguín. The trip to Puerto Rico takes about 30 minutes and to Arguineguín about 60 minutes. The boats have glass bottoms for observing marine life. Friday is market day in Puerto de Mogán, where you’ll find everything your heart desires – from Canarian products to souvenirs.
